Self Introduction

Greetings all,
Hippy angler, grandfather and erstwhile infantry officer. These days dopamine is provided by scouring the Southeast afoot in search of Archaic occupation sites with 7wt St. Croix rod. Recovery from my religious psychosis took some time, mainly the result immaturity and the humanist rubbish I bought into on my way out the door. These days I occupy the more radical evolution real estate on the spectrum.
I ran across an article yesterday from a "mechanical periodical" that linked consciousness to the universe. Normally, linking consciousness to anything, save physiological brain function to my mind should be called scripture but there were some serious physicists attached to it. Thought it might be interesting to how seriously the connection between consciousness and the universe will be taken. So, I popped if for a while.
Where there is life, there is competition for resources. Survive long enough to pass on your genes. The rest is religion.

I'd be interested in reading it. I know very little about the subject.

Yes, but I thought I'd get the lay of the land first. I did not get this old by wandering around rice paddies in the dark. Plus I'm probably a little more direct than most people are used to which takes some time to gauge and moderate if you are going to have polite conversations. But I will not leave you hanging; the article I referenced is in the recent issue of a very popular monthly mechanical publication.
