That's right. It's similarly nothing to do with emotion that I don't believe in dragons, goblins, the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, Darth Vader, superman or honest lawyers. Why would I start with an assumption that all these things exist then go around looking for reasons why I shouldn't believe in them? It's an infinitely long list and that's a lot of wasted time. I shortlist claims that are worth considering to those having good evidence backing them up. Otherwise I have to take seriously any drivel any random person says to me. Everyone who isn't entirely gullible acts the same; people just want God claims to be special and given more consideration, for some reason.
I don't have to deny the existence of gods. I just look around, look at my experience, look at what I know, and it seems most likely people are simply applying arbitrary supernatural causation to perfectly natural events, because I can't see fuck all going on. God is not obvious. Obvious means you can't miss it.
