There is a cultural idea that sex equals babies. If you aren't trying to have babies, why are you having sex? Sex is viewed more as a necessary evil than a cornerstone of a romantic relationship. Hence all the songs about adultery, presumably because people got married before finding out if they were sexually compatable.
