The scripture in Acts says to abstain from blood. So I guess this would be taken as an absolute, no matter the method.

Possibly, it depends on the person I guess. Its not exactly something that witnesses hide from. I was always encouraged to live below my means so that I would always have the means. I have appreciated that and its helped me to focus less on a career based life and more on a fulsome life. I travel a lot and meet a lot of different people around the country and world. And this is partially because my small business gives me enough income and the freedom to roam
