- not quite true: German tourists are usually older married couples wearing color matched "Jack Wolfskin" outdoor gear.
- Germans of my parents' generation are used to leaving tiny tips (rounding up the cents, basically). I give 10+%, got the habit in the US where waiters literally starve if they don't get tips, and couldn't go back
