I think you have to look at it as a layered thing - built on a foundation of lies, constructed using a framework of fabrication, with bullshit bricks and exaggeration mortar. On every level there are things that don't work, that contradict, that make no damn sense, that require the most extraordinary leaps of faith and mental gymnastics.
Internal contradictions make up a small part of this, but they are still worth pointing out.
