There is a multitude of good music, I think the Beatles and Marshall Tucker are great bands, excluding some of their lyrics. The instrumental and composition parts a of their songs are still some of the best, I listen to neither because I can not find their songs without lyrics. Most the rock I listened to, which was extensive, was not altogether the best music, loud music drowns out those who are less talented. I use to love the rock as much and probably more than most, but was realistic and understood that talent wasn't exactly what many rock bands need to be successful. Now I'm sure many here will dispute what I'm saying and that's your right, but it want change the truth.
As for Christian bands it wouldn't surprise me if some were doing Christian music because they otherwise wouldn't make it in the world of music. There is great talent in Christian music, some of the best guitar players, some of the best voices, some of the best at composition. You all are probably like me, I do not like the lyrics of most rock music and you dislike the lyrics of Christian music. However unlike you I recognize the talent of secular musicians and writers, I appreciate their talents. One thing I can say for Christian music, you'll not here the songs calling for murder of others, rape of the innocent, drug use, cheating on spouses and all the other things that is detrimental to society. Christian music does try to promote a better society, not to say that all rock music is bad but so much of it is I stay away from it, much of it doesn't aid in my spiritual growth.
To answer the OP, all music that praises God and shines a light on moral living according to the Bible could be considered acceptably spiritual.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
