It does not matter if we are unaware of the aliens discovery. Just because we believe it is supernatural, does not make it supernatural.
If humans never discovered how to create heavier than air flight, and an alien race showed up in a biplane, it would not be supernatural. No matter how many humans thought it was.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
