Usually the way it comes up is what leads to my change in opinion, however. Recently in TN, I am hearing a lot of side conversations about how this country is going to heyell because the homo 'agenda' is winning. Say that thought aloud, and my opinion of you drops. You do really hear some of the more deplorable things coming out of theists' mouths.
I stop myself when it comes to intelligence, though. I don't think you're necessarily stupid if you've been brainwashed and blackmailed into believing in religion. Of course, some of the corollary stuff that comes along with it, especially in the South, hampers my ability to stop myself.
I have to admit: my negative bias against Christians has all but gone away after moving away from Tennessee. I don't regularly have to hear the racism/homophobic thoughts people feel the need to express anymore, and that helps with my perceptions. I was definitely more of an anti-theist back in the day, and almost completely intolerant of Christians, save my loved ones.
