Cherry picking would be saying the bible is written by the hand of God and completely infallible, and then turning around and saying some things on there are not 100% accurately representing God.
We do not claim or believe that the bible is either written by God Himself, or infallible doctrine. The Church existed before the bible did.
If you want to accurately criticize Church teaching, you look at the Catechism or other infallible documents. You don't look at the bible.
So basically, anything goes in your religion. The bible being fallible means little to nothing.
No.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
