Any reference to needing to go to church within the entirety of christian theology is entirely allegorical, GC. What are you, a fundamentalist?
Yes, exactly. I see that you understand the One True Religion. I am sure that proper religious devotion on a Sunday morning involves something like sleeping in and then having coffee with breakfast, possibly reading a newspaper, possibly listening to Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. Or having sex, or starting the day with a screwdriver. You know, truly sacred and holy things, that are pleasing unto the Lord.
Going to church seems like a blasphemous interpretation of holy scripture, excusable only if there is a special musical presentation that is particularly good. And then one ought not make too much of a habit of it, as it sets a bad example to one's neighbors. And if one does do such a thing, one should never do anything so vulgar as to give them money for it. It only encourages the blasphemous practice of having church services, when they should be participating in holy sacraments like those mentioned previously.
