Er, ok. Thanks for sharing.
Ever hear of a non sequitur, Mr Logic Expert?
Yes I do Thanks.
(November 9, 2016 at 5:23 pm)Mathilda Wrote: Edward John, Logic is totally invented. This is why we have many different forms of logic, for example, first order predicate calculus, higher order logic, fuzzy logic etc.
If not, then which exact form of logic do you think would exist even if the human species did not?
If you want a clear example of how logic is invented, how about a paradox where something can be both logically true and false at the same time?
The very concept of absolute truth is nebulous. Do you mean Truth as in real or Truth as in a no limit to our knowledge? Not differentiating between these two is equivocation, but both concepts are used in logic, e.g. Bayesian probability theory.
So you tell us what exactly you mean by Absolute Truth rather than making a strawman argument.
In order to tell you what exactly I mean by absolute truth, You'll have to answer my question.
The question is this I Don’t Know what Absolute Truth means? Pick A or B
A: Absolutely True that I don't know what absolute truth means.
B: Absolutely False that I don't know what absolute truth means.
Pick A or B
SO you said Logic does not exist - that it was invented. Now which was it? One interesting thing about denying logic, is that since you DO NOT believe in logic, you actually DO believe in logic, Yes a true non sequitur. If there were not logic, then you could have no problem with that contradiction. Pick A or B.
A: I used logic to conclude that logic does not exist.
B:I came to the conclusion about logic arbitrarily.
Pick A or B

LOGIC EXISTS?
OR
LOGIC DOES NOT EXIST?
Choose one
An example of a law of logic is the law of non-contradiction. This law states, for instance, that it cannot both be true that I like onions and that I don't like onions at the same time, and in the same way.
Logic is a set of rules for reasoning. It's based on observation, what reasoning produces useful results and what reasoning doesn't. Two contradictory statements can't both be true simultaneously.
How long are you going to try leading me by the nose before you get to your 'gotcha' moment?
Okay, so you acknowledged absolute truth exists, you acknowledged that you know something to be true and that logic exists. Now let’s see what you mean by logic. Pick A or B.
A: Logic is universal
B: Logic is up to the individual, in other words, contradictions are invalid only where you are, and only because you say they are, or is this universally true?
Pick A or B
