Additionally, make sure that mental healthcare is easier to gain access to and make sure it has equal funding. The last time I stayed in a behavioral ward it was plain to me that it was grossly underfunded. In fact they didn't even have individual therapy. In this vein, I would like it if people were more accepting of the mentally ill here, to the point that I wouldn't have to be embarrassed to say "I don't work or have a wife and kids because I have schizophrenia." Some might think I'm lazy or something but it's safer for them to think that right now, I think.

There is no shame in that. I interact with both treated and untreated schiz individuals on a weekly basis.
Thanks. The thing is I live in a rural area. Its kind of like the rednecks of the north but not quite as bad. So IRL I have to be prudent who I reveal that stuff to.
