I can't support the death penalty but the simple fact is that prison sentences mean nothing to this type of Christian. The bible has already told them that they'll face persecution for their beliefs so they'll see jail time as validation of the rightness of their actions and martyrdom for their faith.
My personal solution would be to psych ward them and not release them until fully rehabilitated, including the reformation of their faith.
