Technically it's a pair of compasses. And even with them I couldn't draw a circle, I was woejus at technical graphics.
My favorite class in engineering school was drafting. I drew some really awesome renderings.
On a drafting table.
With a lead holder (like a pencil).
On paper.
Once I got a job in R&D, my schematics were works of art. I can't freehand worth shit, though.
