And yet you've come to conclusions regarding the historicity of the Gospels, Christ, and other things? How about Craig Blomberg or Paul Barnett?
I'm asking so that I can get a firmer handle on the merits of your case.
What have you read that has given rise to your rejection of the Bible's general historical reliability and authenticity?
Curious...
Where to begin...
The Gospels never claim to be written by eyewitnesses. What's more damning is that Matthew and John, two of Jesus' Apostles, are written in third person i.e. Matthew and John didn't write their Gospels. Mark by default isn't an eyewitness account because he was a disciple of Peter and Luke from the very beginning confesses that he had other texts where he got his information from (Mark and Josephus). As you can see, from the word 'go' we have absolutely no one that ever saw the Son of God for themselves. Paul makes things worse by only ever claiming to see a spiritual Jesus on the way to Damascus. So the luckiest men to live who had direct access to Jesus never say they saw him for themselves. This is only the beginning to understanding the true meaning of the Gospels and the early cults.
