What about ropes? Many a man's been hung. Shall we ban those?
A dude shot a lion and people blamed the man. A dude shoots anything else and people blame the gun.
The item itself isn't the entire problem. It's the careless people in control or possession of said item. You can sit any item out and by itself it won't do anything. Put that item in someone's control and there is no telling how they will handle it. A gun on a porch is a gun on a porch. It won't stand itself up and fire itself. But a person will if they get ahold of that gun.
So to ban cars and knives and guns is just stupid. All three things can't explicitly kill a person without another person behind it, using it or activating it in some way.
