Actually, I don't think so.
Most xtians can read and the "church" (albeit 600 years later) finally accepted the bible in english (could have the dates wrong) but essentially islam makes xtianity look positively progressive and up to date! islam relys on the worship of written words as if they are something magical and can not be touched and to do this the imams and ayatollahs, sheiks and the other hangers on need a population that is stupid.
