Yeah, I read that story and it immediately sprung to my mind that "altercation" probably meant that someone fucking panicked...like a person might.......while they're being rescued from high water. Is their story actually that two brothers got into a fight...surrounded by floodwater, and that shooting one of them appeared to be the most prudent course of action?
I've pulled people out of the water, and I've seen them pull each other under grasping for help - hit each other in the face when they try to break loose (because they're drowning each other but neither sees that in the moment). Never occurred to me that shooting one of them would solve the problem, or..if it would...that this was an acceptable solution. Guess I'm not cop material?
