I wasn't referring to the flood in any of my references, but yeah. Thanks for yet another example of the malevolent intent f your god. I'm not quite sure how to take this comment, honestly. Are you saying that a child has the knowledge and level of comprehension of an adult to the point of reasoning the pros and cons of an indoctrinated belief taught by authority figures? For that matter, what is it within your adult mind that can justify an entire world full of people being drowned including born and unborn alike? Do you really think each and every one of them were beyond 'saving'? No, nevermind, I forgot: everyone from the old testament pretty much did go to hell, believers and non believers alike. Which then leads me to ask why you consider your god benevolent in any way for laying out a plan no one can follow anyways (god forbid I get my hair stuck in something and need to cut it!), then that god takes any and all chance of salvation away by drowning the people he created like this in the first place? Oh let's not play.. If you consider God all knowing enough to know for a fact all of those people in the flood were unrectifiable then surely he knew exactly what was going to happen with Adam and Eve. The whole Genesis story plays out like a malevolent flawed experiment where the origin of ghe possible choices allowed is with the crazy scientist who knows for a fact that themouse is of course going to eat the. heese but is able to throw his hands up in the air and be 'surprised' at the result, absolving himself of any and all responsibility for the system he put the mouse into in the first place.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
