By your command:
When did please and I believe become words of command, you're off on the wrong foot to start with, so I have doubt you can understand anything you posted below.

I kindly suggest that as a believer you should read and understand the fairy tale that you profess to believe in.
Since I do not consider the Bible a fairy tale and you do, I suspect you have no real understanding of scripture.
You seem to be mixing up belief and trust, sure there are many who do not have that level of trust, just as I'm sure you do not have complete trust in many people in your life.
You really think that if I asked Jesus to kill you and display your dead body in a town square He would, just how would that glorify the Father. You need to understand what true asking is about, Jesus was speaking of the spiritual, that which is within the will of the Father.
WoG Wrote:This is an interesting passage because Jesus clearly states that believers who trust in him can do all of the things that were attributed him.
One big thing you have missed out on, Jesus had no powers here on earth, everything came from the Father, Jesus was to be the perfect human, He was already the perfect God, so He needed to receive the Father's power.
WoG Wrote:So give it a try. Walk on water on a nice summer day. Lay your hands on the sick and paralyzed and cure them. Cast out demons. That guy who just killed those people in California could have used your help in ridding himself of the pesky demons that infected him. Make a spit ball of mud and cure a blind person by placing it on his eyelids. Go levitate a mountain. Go resurrect a corpse that has been dead for four days.
Your saying I should ask for physical powers when Jesus wants me to have spiritual powers. Those things Jesus did actually came from the Father, Jesus had no such powers on earth. Even if those were accomplished through me you would have an excuse for why they were not real. I personally have had hands laid on me and healed.
Quote:Now, if you can't do those things and more how can you trust Jesus when he said that he will give you whatever you ask for in prayer?
Being that I know what Jesus meant about asking I've had prayer answered for specific things, some where physical but for a spiritual purpose. Of coarse you want believe me, but that's okay most didn't believe Jesus the Son of God.

Show us where the Bible says it's a joke.

The problem with Luckie's statement is that the Bible describes demons as discrete visible entities that infect people and not as simply bad characteristics as Paul did in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. When Jesus drove out some demons they jumped into some pigs and the pigs ran off a cliff to their death. And the demons spoke human language. That makes them different from bad characteristics.
Problem is you can't recognize the differences in what Jesus did and what ChadWooter's was speaking of.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
