Well, now you've done stepped into my wheelhouse, so I should speak up:

First of all, evolution is not "the other hand" to belief in the christian god; those two things are not antonyms. You were going on about how 30% of the world is christian, as though that is a measure of truth, so if you take that seriously then I have to point out that the majority of those accept evolution as true.

Secondly, "changing their stories,"... yes. That is what you do, when you come across new information. It's called "learning." Would you rather the scientists discover new information and not change the story to fit? Would you rather they just be wrong, so long as they have the same story forever? Why would you want that? Wouldn't you be using that as an argument against evolution if you lived in that world?
