I went off of an "Easy Indian Butter Chicken" recipe tonight, again for the crockpot (which this doesn't call for). I added frozen mixed veggies (as for a pot pie), and fresh carrots and spinach. I didn't use butter or any substitute. I also replaced heavy cream with almond milk. Ended up using 2 cups of almond milk vs. the three called for, and almost twice the amount of tomato product (in my case, crushed). Eyeballed all the seasonings. Used a LOT of garam masala.
