What living material did your god work with to create humans, then?
The reply was "naturalistic process," No one has said God used natural processes to "make" the human body. Yes the term is "make," God made the human body from the materials of the earth and then created a soul (breath of life). Read the creation story God created three times and made things from the created things.
1) Yes, I've already pointed out this bit of special pleading he was engaging in. Thanks for bringing it back up.
2) Just because I think your bible is a pile of shit with covers sewn on doesn't mean I haven't read it. I have. I just think that it's horseshit.

Here's what you wrote:

Now, you weren't complaining because they were calling you "Angel of the Morning", or even "Jimmie James". YOu were complaining about being insulted. If you're reduced to this level of rank pedantry, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe this will help:
(August 9, 2017 at 8:06 am)rjh4 is back Wrote: 2) I agreed that at the point you were talking about that I was generalizing. So why are you commenting like I said I wasn't. More nuance practice needed on your part.
Probably because you were defending your generalizations on the basis of having so many people to talk to. It takes a few seconds and a few words to insert a qualifier.

This one is really rich given that neither you nor anyone else has piped up in Min's defense indicating that his original post was really meaningful in any way. It certainly does not show evidence that supports any view of life to non-life. And if it did, I would think people like you would have called me out for that, i.e., that I was wrong on my original post. But...you didn't. So from what I get out of this is that here at this forum, you, Thumpalumpacus, will hold a Christian to a different standard than an atheist.
No, what it is is that I think it indicates that life may possibly be more common than supposed. I thought it was an interesting article but it didn't add too much to my knowledge; this is stuff I learnt in astronomy back in the 90s asa college student. It doesn't rise to the strength of evidence. Oddly enough, Minimalist didn't make that claim in his OP, which renders this paragraph of yours a red herring.
And -- it's not my job to defend Minimalist. He's more than capable of holding his own.

I mean I think it is wrong because the Bible tells us to treat others like we want to be treated. But without God, what is your naturalistic explanation for right and wrong? Is it just a result of chemical reactions going on in your brain?
Wait, you have to be told that stealing and kicking people in the teeth is wrong? What the fuck?
Me, I reckon they're wrong out of my sense of empathy. I've had that shit done to me, I didn't like it, and I'm deeply uncomfortable doing those things for that reason.
Empathy. Do you really need to be told not to lie, cheat, or steal?
