Abraham was willing to kill Isaac for personal fame and fortune. The story is in contrast to the scene where Satan temps Yeshua by offering him the world if he would worship him. Yeshua declined. Abraham accepted. The story is also based upon the 4th Commandment where Yahweh says that all that opens the womb is his, which means that the parents had to kill their first born or redeem them Abraham was supposedly able to redeem Isaac with a ram that he had caught in a thicket.
Later on in the fairy tale Yahweh said that the dummies should have been samrt enough no to kill the kids but they were idiots so they did.
Suppose you had to kill your son to save your wife. When you got married you took a vow to foresake all others. You never took such a vow for your son. So were you just lying when you pledged to foresake all others for your wife?
