As i have just wrote in "the other" forum: Muellers job was to find evidence for Trumps guilt. His job was to to find him innocent. The fact that Mueller felt it necessary to point explicitly out that he coulnt find Trump innocent, that should tell us alot, considering he is a staunch republican and 100% loyal to the constitution (and not to an individual).
What would you think about the defendant if the judge/state attorney said something (after a trial) along the line: "We couldnt find you guilty of rape, but i would like to point out that we we unable to conclude you are innocent. You are free to go."?
I read an article that said Mueller's report was actually more nuanced. He seemed to feel that it would be pointless to recommend indicting Trump, as the new attorney general slash lap dog would never move on it. What he seemed to be trying to do was invite Congress to pick up the ball and move forward with investigations that could establish obstruction. Maybe.
