GDP is growing at higher rate than more socialist Europe and at lower rate than less socialist China.
It's the economy, stupid...
GDP isn't much of an indicator. As Nobel-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz explains
Quote:The problem, he says, is that politicians see positive GDP figures and continue with the status quo. GDP gives no hint of environmental degradation or resource depletion, nor inequality, middle-class suffering, or lower standards of living. “If growth is not sustainable because we are destroying the environment and using up scarce natural resources our statistics should warn us,” he says. “It is clear that something is fundamentally wrong with the way we assess economic performance and social performance.”

And talk about the middle class:
Wealth change since 1982:
Kochs, Waltons, Mars: UP 6,000%
Median American household: DOWN 3%
Not to mention that US corporate debt is at a record high — 47% of GDP.
So it is racism, stupid.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
