If your kid thinks using his baseball bat to hit other kids is not ok, the bat isn't doing it no, but the kid IS USING THE BAT, and any sane parent would take the bat away.

No, just like last night, all of that was because we have one industry not giving a fuck where their products end up. None of this is "luck" but by design. Keep the violence up, the industry sells more weapons.
Most of our firearm deaths are not even from mass shootings. Most of them happen in the home or with someone the victim knew.
There is no "luck" going on here. There is one business industry with one lobby selling fear to protect our flooded market and ease of access. Fear and violence sell weapons.
