Our country is basically built on Celtic savagery, Saxon agriculture, and Norman wisdom.
Heard some stuff about the Anglo-Saxons, and saw the movie of William Wallace, not the William the Bastard, never heard of him, the Celts were also on my radar because of their tribal Music. And I know that the different tribes living there gave the Romans hell. Normandy is linked to WW2 in my head.
Once he consolidated his rule, a dozen years after arriving - 1066 and all that - the literal original William in this country took the epithet "The Conquerer".
As for Celtic music, you're probably thinking of Enya.
