Wait! When did I miss the demonstration that such a thing as 'sensus divinitatis' is a real thing?
How can I tell the difference between my natural occurring, pattern seeking and overactive agency detecting brain, misinterpreting some brain state, and sensing actual gods?

Not very likely. The vast majority of modern philosophers are atheists.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
