You don't like the solution of making ethnic slurs and racial myths consequential? You don't think that raising awareness, isolating racial disparity, and working to end them through their ultimate source...racism...is beneficial?
That's what pc and sj are about, in context of race in the US. You could google any number of protests, boycotts, PACS, watchdog groups, and outreaches - all of which are doing that work. Let wonder lead you to knowledge.
Ultimately, it won't end the problem of racism in it's entirety, and it won't turn back the clock on the historical and persistent effects - but it's a good start.
