If phone makers stuck to old technology we'd still be using rotary phones. Nobody is suggesting we end competition, but to get big corporations to move away from old technology. Car companies threw a fit when Nadar exposed how bad their technology was. Cars didn't stop getting made. It isn't a matter of ending any business, but getting business to adapt to better data and better technology.
True enough, car manufacturing didn't stop, but how many car-makers financed horse-and-buggy factories?
