Never in my time as a Christian did I believe (or any other Christians I knew) that god would protect me from anything bad happening to me ever. Never did I believe it was his place to do that. I would say that at most Christians should be thanking god for giving them a life where they’re afforded the luxury of having locks on their doors. Their faith should never be that god will prevent them from being robbed, but rather that whether or not they use the locks, if they do get robbed, god will see them through it.

I had a sky pilot tell me he could prove God was protecting me. He outranked me so he went along one day. Brought him home in a body bag. The chaplains that came for his body asked us to pray for him. Hilarious
