The death rate is 5 to 10 percent, depending on the source you read, which is high for a 'flu variant but low for something that could cause a pandemic.
Judging by the counter, the death rate seems closer to 3.43%. If it starts killing healthier, younger, people like the Spanish Flu, then this might be a cause for alarm.
The Spanish flu came in two waves and it was the second wave that was the deadliest.
