Australia has had only 39 deaths from C19, that's less than 0.7% fatality rate
You people don't even know this and without offering any suggestions or addressing anything i said a lot of you just resorted to ad hominems.
Yet the government says this lock down will continue for 6 months
Outside of the cities there is hardly no C19 cases, in fact large sections of rural Australia have remained unaffected by C19. Why should these country towns make such great sacrifices? Loose their jobs, businesses, lively hoods and become homeless for what?
Why should everyone be in lock down when it's only the sick/elderly that need to be locked down?
Why must people become homeless for not being able to pay rent when it's the sick/elderly that need to be taking precautions
And yes i know there are some rare cases of younger people dying
So while it's easy for people to empathize with what they are seeing now with C19, there aren't many people that understand what is about to happen after this. People seem to think that everything will go back to how it was, that no one will be effected by all this. There will be more deaths in the aftermath than with C19 in Australia, real tragic deaths to young people who never even got a chance in this life
I don't want anyone to die but we have a situation where death is inevitable and so need to make triage based decisions
Ending the lives of tens of thousands of young people to save the lives of 40 old people is a ludicrous proposition.
Taiwan has the same population as here and is next to China yet they handled the situation without closing down anything. They've taken measures that the west hasn't even considered
As for the boomers im yet to see any of them show any level of appreciation for people making such sacrifices
I do however see many of them whining and moaning about this and that
I challenge anyone to show me an example of such appreciation being shown by boomers
People who haven't considered this view that many of us Aussies have are being very narrow minded as this is an unprecedented event that has no correct course of action and so all options need to be considered
