But to me they sound the same even though they are spelled differently. Just like "They're" "There" and "Their" all mean completely different things.
What attic and addict have in common in they both start with the letter "a" and are two syllable words.
Attic has two "Ts" together and it ends with a "K" sound.
Addict has two "Ds" together and ends with "CT".
I have hearing loss and even with that the two words sound very different. If you are hearing them the same you should maybe have your hearing checked.
