I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that. The argument at this point in history, is that it seems that the GOP is willing to side to very anti democratic ideas while selling hyper nationalism in order to keep power. I think the powers on the "GOP" side view "consequences" as anything that doesn't benefit them.
Well, obviously. They are hypocrites. They say they don't like any number of policies...until they do like them. In reality they like them very much as long as it suits their needs.
I mentioned consequences for our decisions because I've heard all my life from Republicans about personal responsibility. Freedom without personal responsibility can result in chaos. And that's what we have, chaos, because Republicans are not living up to the personal responsibility side of things. Once again, hypocrisy.
