We recently figured out how a dna-repairing enzyme performs it's function as a molecule. The insight into the difference between healthy cells and damaged cells, as well (and ofc) how that applies to cancer will be invaluable. We certainly could have used that information in 700ad, when magic book was dropping it's scientific miracles on our heads.
The Grand Spreader was too busy informing us that He is The One Who Spreads. I've never understood this nonsense from a believing muslim...and fwiw, islamic theologians don't get it either. If it were true, as they wish for us to believe, that magic book contains scientific miracles...that would only demonstrate that their god is a peerless monster.
It's not true, and it's largely the product of one man. A member of a wahhabist offshoot calling for a revival in sunni islam. Conveniently decrying sectarianism in islam while actually being a committed radical sectarian islamist. They've plastered this heretical filth all over the islamic world, and...as another poster noticed, they don't particularly care that they're telling people that magic book must change if science changes. That's because they don't intend to honor whatever ludicrous claim they made last when making the next.
