I do, I gather that you do as well. It's a realization that ought to be simple and easy to put into words, as I'm sure it will be between us. The odd thing about it, exemplified by the neverending cascade of threads on this board and others, and also arguments between pundits on the news.....is that it seems alot more difficult for many of us to say than it will be for you or I.
This, too, is a thing that protest movements are highlighting. Not just the presence of this inequity, but our strange inability to name it without hedging and dissimulation. The police are abusive, and they're willing to abuse anyone, but for reasons of practicality and convenience, no one suffers their abuse as much as vulnerable and marginalized communities.
In the end, we'll hang together, or we'll be hung separately. E pluribus unum, and all of that. An offense against any one of us is an offense against us all, and should be treated accordingly. We recently devastated a large swath of the middle east because a handful of randos killed a few people in a big building. We know how to do this, we do it with enthusiasm, and yet...
