It would be entirely wrong. Those waves only seem to get bigger....in reality, they get smaller*..but our wave isn't getting any bigger or smaller.
If I'm standing still emitting a pulse every second, you'll see a 1 second gap between troughs and peaks - but if I'm moving, it's the one second gap plus whatever speed I'm moving at determining the distance between troughs and peaks. The faster I move, toward you, the shorter the distance between peaks - away from you, further. The peaks are both when, and where, I emit. The troughs are the spaces in between.
The doppler effect.

*because the wave is being constricted to less and less space as the shelf rises, and in light of submarine features. The biggest waves imply a sharp rise in the floor - diverting force upward. That's why shallow water with a shipping trench is so reliable. Still, you lose force pushing against bottom and water will only go so far above level per unit of force behind it - hence, the actual wave is smaller - just more focused.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
