Republicans have been allowed to hide behind Roe for too long, relying on virtue signaling to turn out voters with no fear they would have to face the consequences of eliminating medical services for abortions. Now they will have to face those consequences, and it will not be pretty. The Supreme Court has granted them the means to shut off abortion access, so now we'll see whether that's what voters really want. If polling is any indication, Republicans are in for a rough ride. Hopefully, that will mean that as awful as this period is, it will only be temporary.
