Of course it has meaning. A creationist can win against an evolutionist if the creationist plays his cards right and the evolutionist doesn't. Just because in theory silly positions can win doesn't make the debate meaningless. The point of a debate, especially those in public forums is not to convince the person you're debating but the people listening/watching. If you're arguments are flawed they are going to be convince by the other person. Get this notion out of your head that just because what you deem silly and obviously not real makes the debate an automatic win for you. It doesn't. It's not about what's right/wrong true/not true. It's about presenting the facts/evidence in a way that promote your position.
