I want to burn a bible. I have 5 copies, and I think I should burn all of them. What if the only thing to survive a zombie (or other kind of) apocalypse was a bible.. the bible I didn't burn, but had the chance. It wouldn't matter, really, because I would be nothing (dead); but the thought of it bothers me as a living person. I would be responsible if some children stuck in a hole somewhere came out when the smoke cleared, and found it, albeit in a small way. That would be what they base the new culture upon, and history, in it's most abhorrent form, would repeat itself- all because I didn't burn the fucking book.
The chances of that are slim to none, but upon further contemplation, it's still worth it. I have an electronic version for reference, anyhow. Noodles knows I need it for the beating of Christians with their own smut.
(I'm a fan of Rhythm's posts too)

I ripped one up once. It was our first week at high school and we all got given a copy of the bible... So, being an irritant, 13 year old, I tore it up...
I'd probably burn one though. It is an abomination after all.

I've heard the bible makes great rolling papers.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I'd do something that would almost certainly piss off fundamental theists more-so than actually burning it.
Rewriting the Bible, and improving it as a work of fiction.

Oh wow! There is something about burning a book, even one with which I disagree, that is absolutely abhorrent to me. No, I could never burn any book.

No, I haven't burned one, but I have used a Gideon bible to give a recreational spanking.
Is that more blasphemous, or less? I have no idea. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I find it to be a pointless endeavor. Burning any book only ever really increases its power.
Try taking a book from someone, telling them they cannot read it, burn it, post the burning and your objections to it on the internet and watch its sales skyrocket.
