RE: Complaints and Grievances
I asked a friend if they were going to be a bible teacher and they said it was more like they were living a God and Bible honoring life.

=\ uhm, okay?

Aaah. Using fancy terminology and phrases to make it seem like they're doing something to "make the world a better place". Banghead

What's pissing everyone off lately? Get it out!

Why? Is this the festivous airing of the greivences?
FESTIVOUS FOR THE REST OF US!

Yeah - something's been pissing me off lately.
Since becoming single about three weeks ago, I've been hitting the dating sites.
Normally I do fairly well there - but lately, I've been messaging, messaging, and messaging.
The women seem to just delete my message. Only some of them actually bother to read my profile.
My first messages are just simple "Hello - how are you?" or something similar depending on what I read in thier profile.
Good lord that's annoying. I'm always complimented on how good I look and how nice I am in person but sonofabitch, it's like these women like to do everything on a dating website but talk to or meet men.

I had an easier time finding women in the boonies in Indiana than I did since moving to Dallas, Texas where there should be several times as many available women. I have to wonder if more of them would be willing to say hello if I switched "atheist" to something else or if I lied about how much money I'm making.
Then again, I am being a tad cynical.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925

I just thought of it to see if it would suddenly make me more popular but if the women are passing me over for either of those reasons, I wouldn't want them anyway. I'm very discerning about that sort of thing.
I've always had problems picking people up at this particular website anyway.

After I've paid my monthly blood donations (rent and other bills), I'll expand my search outward a bit and see how things go.
I need some more updated pictures and whatnot anyway.

I've always felt that finding women is generally more about mass marketing and my scope has been rather limited. It just irks me because while the rejection doesn't really bother me, it's that I can see all these women talking to all these people (through adding "friends" and talking about how they can't find anyone on the forums and things of that nature) but as soon as I send them a message, I either get ignored or deleted without a second thought and I have no idea why this is happening.

I get that women tend to get flooded with messages more than men so they can afford to be choosier, but they seem to reject me without even a discriminating thought in my direction. Then again, I'm hardly in a position to judge why they do so.

It's frustrating as hell.
It's like being at a party and as much as you try to talk to anyone or yell or scream, only some of them glance at you and not one of them will talk to you - even the ones that complain all the time that they have no one to talk to.

It's like being in middle school.

Sorry to hear what all everyone is putting up with. It sure is a tough economy. You have all my sympathy if you're putting up with shit work in order to have any work. The little iiron rice bowl I get for teaching looks pretty good at times like these. When my stepson and all his college buddies were making more than I was while only working part time it didn't seem so good. Now I'll take it.

Perhaps the only thing worse than not being in a relationship is being in a bad one .. and there are so many ways for it to be bad. My advice is find someone who loves what they do and want to spend loads of time doing it (assuming you're that way too). If they travel a good deal that is a bonus because you've got to get some time apart. They've got to be able to surprise you conversationally and in bed.

When it comes to family you have to play the hand you're dealt and there are a lot of jokers in mine. I've got a fundy brother who reads the bible like a lawyer and a depressed brother who became a moron .. I mean mormon. My wife's sisters won't talk to her for shit so weird you wouldn't believe it. Thank god for strangers. You get to pick which ones of them you make friends.

But the real secret to happiness is a good dog. They'll keep you grounded when all else fails.

Yes! I get so tired of hearing how damn good god was when someone's flight returns safely. The same people never say "god was such a prick! Waited on the tarmac for 2 hours!" Whenever shit happens that is just god working in mysterious ways.

Oh, and don't forget "pray for me". Fat lot of good that's going to do anyone.
