"Blasphemy" is an offence which occurs when a believer of any religion gets their panties all out off focus when somebody has the audacity to disagree with or ridicule their personal superstitions.

In some socially primitive societies,such as Saudi Arabia or parts of the Southern US, 'blasphemers' can be physically attacked,even killed. Wasn't that long ago that such people were burned alive,so I guess we non believers should be grateful.

I believe that this falls under the category of blasphemy.

It's only blasphemy to those who accept it as sacred. I have an action figure of jesus myself - given to me as a joke. I gots LOTS of funny pics!

The amazing thing is mehmet ...if you should even whisper the word FORD in a group of Aussies who happen to be ardent followers of HOLDEN this is also called "blasphemy" ...all in all it doesn't mean a thing.

The purchasers are probably xtians I would think...which is why they are funny to those who are not ardent followers of the abrahamic religions.

Making a toy of any sacred figure carries the potential of offense, sure, but only in other people; and people as a general collective tend to have an absurdly low offense threshold about anything you care to imagine. If not a Jesus doll, then ownership of a special rock or something equally silly. Regardless, I rather suspect the video is a parody of sorts, blasphemy notwithstanding.

As a side note, it may be of some interest that here in the UK, blasphemy law was repealed in May 2008. Almost four years, during which time nobody noticed any difference - except for a greater freedom of expression.

Well, it certainly is without a victim, as you cannot victimize God whatever you do. No matter how many curses you utter, no matter how many people you lead to the path of blasphemy or heresy, it doesn't matter. But you generally do the worst to yourself, I think.
If you have at least a little bit faith, I think you'd consider twice before blaspheming the name of your God.

This of course, is on an individual level.
But on a public level, blasphemy is generally good for one thing. Angering masses. As people do not like when others utter curses at them, they certainly do not like it when someone utters curses at something they see as their God. I think it's perfectly understandable when people get mad whenever someone blasphemes their God, or incites others to act in blasphemous or heretical ways.

The person who made the parody clearly does not believe in their god, neither do I .... therefore between at LEAST the two of us, there is no blasphemy. You can't commit blasphemy against a being you don't believe to exist!

No, even if god exists, which he doesn't, someone can still become a victim of a crime, even if they are not hurt by the crime in anyway. Meaning that the only way blasphemy can be a victimless crime is for there to be no god. A position I wholeheartedly agree with. And blasphemy isn't a crime where I come from anyway.

The answer to that is: no, I don't have the slightest bit of faith. I do have reason, and logic, and science, all of which tell me I don't have to think twice before using the words 'jesus fucking christ'.

I'll also give you my opinion on offending religious people. I really don't care if some religious person is offended by my use of the english language in a perfectly legitimate and legal way. I don't agree with them, I happen to believe that religion is a dangerous self-delusion, and that its none of my business if they get hurt by words not directed at them. And frankly, I will continue to say whatever I want as long as they keep offending me by trying to indoctrinate me into their offensive religion.
