Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Why must there be a meaning to existance?
This whole business of stating 'life must have meaning' seems rather child like.
Akin to a child saying "fish live in water, therefore, the PURPOSE of water is to give fish a place to live" (children start to do this about six years old)
The whole thing is built on the false premiss that the water has a purpose. Water just is.
So my view of life, which I have stated before, is simply "shit happens".

I completely agree that is a possibility of reality downbeat.
All I am saying, all I have ever said, is that if one believes "shit" doesn't "just happen" then one necessarily believes in something that can be called "God."
- does that make sense?

We are at an impasse kichi. You lack reason. To say that one thing "can't" be called another necessarily means that words have absolute value. Words must then be real. If words are real they must believe they exist apart from our ideas about what they mean. You are beyond reproach. I have just called the belief in objectivity a belief in God. Obviously words "can" be called other things. I have just presented you with irrefutable evidence of such. Yet you refuse to accept the evidence. You are invincibly ignorant.

Christians can be humanists as well. Of course, many Christians leaders demonize humanism, so the chances of more christians becoming humanists are held back by their leaders.
Quote: they have no purpose because they can't be a scientist?
Of course that sounds silly stupid. Do you know why? Because it is a strawman that you have described. Strawmen are easy to knock down and make fun of, arent they?
Quote: many say benifiting society but for those who only flip burgers they obviously don't do much for society (even though someone has to do it).
You must be a Republican. That person who flips a burger ultimately is more productive than the entire stock market and their hedge fund addicted children. Nice way to show how much you care for your fellow human. Did Christianity teach you to say such hateful things, or were you just raised to be an arse?
Quote:the truth of the matter is without religion, there is no purpose above society.
LIAR! Purpose can exist beyound the false limitations you have just given it.
Quote:there is no authority above humans.
...and thank no god for that! We already have enough of a beaurocracy here on earth without needing a celestial kingship over us as well.
Quote: as long as you don't get caught breaking the law, you can do whatever you want.
You say that like its something new. It isnt. People even make laws to legitimize mass murder and torture...like the Christians with their inquisition and the Religious Right who support "alternative interrogation techniques" as long as it is for non-Christians and Muslims.
Quote:the only thing you have to worry about other than the law is your health.
..especially if you are living in a society run by Christians. Then they want to take you health and welfare away and say "why should I pay taxes for them...they can go to the church. Surely the church will help them."
Quote:this is the thing that athiests want to be the truth.
Yeah...whatever...how can you know for sure when everytime an atheist tries to run openly as a politician they never win. Our country is run SPECIFICALLY by a majority of people who claim to be Christians. Look how fucked up America is right now.
Quote:there is no god, no divine punishment, no karma; just human and health consequences.
Sounds fine to me. Simplicisty is divine.

He's still doing the "most correctly termed" song and dance? It was garbage the first time he typed it, it remains garbage, I don't know why anyone would persist with such garbage.

What the fuck is this supposed to even mean????
This is the result of being a 100% idealist. Eventually physical reality is what the dreamland is, and only the ideals held by the individual represent reality. It is an open an active denial of everything that doesnt fit the individuals ideals..
in other words...this dude is certifiable.

Im an idealistic realistic rationalist. If you must label me.
I believe everything exists as a possibility of physical reality. The only thing I can assert with 100% certainty is that at this very instant I am perceiving something. Everything else is just beliefs about what I am perceiving.
