There's no doubt in my mind that most Christians believe in freedom of religion... as long as it's Christianity.

You mean this one?

I hope none of those people shouting were representatives. I am ashamed of my country.

No, I think it was a bunch of people in the visitor's gallery. Not that I couldn't see a bunch of Senators leaving in protest.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Exactly. Doesn't their special book specifically warn against making a public show of prayer? Besides we pay their salary. They should pray on their own nickel.

First the stupid courts ruled that "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is devoid of any religious meaning, now lawyers are trying to claim that the "Our Father" prayer is not Christian? What a bunch of bullshit.

Frankly, the Establishment Clause says there will be no establishment of religion period, not "you can pray before public meetings as long as it's a non-denominational, all-inclusive prayer." They shouldn't even be having a prayer before a city or county council meeting. After all, what is a prayer? It's talking to a god, which is a religion.

Next they will claim the bible isnt a book of religion, but a historical text.
