Is it true the Vatican has hidden historical texts?
January 16, 2012 at 2:39 pm
My friend told the Vatican has a huge number of hidden texts noone is allowed to read, dating throughout history.
Is there truth in this?
I know the church burnt most of what they didn't like from the 4th century until the Renaissance but do they possibly still possess material that might even shatter the myth of the historical Jesus.
I read somewhere some of the material of the Dead Sea Scrolls was hidden and never released to the public.

I am certain the archives of any nation that ever amounted to anything over many centuries would reveal vast quantities of skeletons whose revelation would shatter the reputation of that nation. But as the Catholic church trades on false reputation to much higher degree than any nation, I am sure Vatican archives would be the death of catholicism in the modern world to fully release.
As to weather they actually hold any material shattering the myth of the historic Jesus, I kinda doubt it for the same reason I doubt any one holds any material that might shatter the myth of the historic Hercules or snow white. Myth of Historic Jesus is to far removed from any whift of reality for reality to stoop to bother refuting it.

Rumor has it, and I mean the Dan Brown kind of rumor, that they have been supressing the existence of the gospels according to Jesus and Mary Magdalene, because they talk about being married umong other things that don't fit into the version of Jesus the church wants you to see.

Vatican won't hesitate once given the opportunity to hide anything even slightly endangering their religion or Vatican itself.

Or they're hiding texts by promonent figures that would blow apart their whole con of a religion which they've carefully made sure they will never be seen.
