Well My version of sin it that it hurts or harms physically or verbally it is a sin
but if it don't, it is not. the only unforgivably sin is cold blooded murder.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful" - Edward Gibbon (Offen misattributed to Lucius Annaeus Seneca or Seneca the Younger) (Thanks to apophenia for the correction)
'I am driven by two main philosophies:
Know more about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you' - Neil deGrasse Tyson
"Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." - Mark Twain

The word sin is essentially means missing the mark. For example; in the christian context failing to meet the expectations which god expected for the crown of his creation.

You are conflating one Latin word with the later religious term associated therewith. Not accurate to do so.

Some people would say homosexuality is the unforgiven sin.

Others would say murder.

Child molestation.

The list goes on and on and homosexuality is by no means comparable to the last two. Smile

It is the only unforgivable sin because it is by definition the refusal to ask God for forgiveness. No one is doomed to hell unless they have made the decision not to accept God's gift, and even then they can recant their decision. If you say you're sorry for your wrongs (repent) and ask God for forgiveness, he will forgive you. Believe Jesus died for those sins, and that's all there is to it. If a Christian truly worries about not going to heaven they probably have nothing to worry about.

This is the most common response I see from Christians, except it didn't include the tidbit about suicide being a form of rejection and also being unforgivable. Though the latter has become a more contended point between Christians in modern times.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

If we accept this to be truth, then we must also accept that people who are nonbelievers when they die cannot be cast into hell because they had clearly never made a decision yet. They simply didn't believe that a decision actually needed to be made.

So if what you say is true, then non-believers would need to actually make their decision after they die and God shows them there there truly is a GIFT being offered that needs to be accepted or rejected.

Prior to that they could not possibly have made a decision.

Christian - A moron who believes that an all-benevolent God can simultaneously be a hateful jealous male-chauvinistic pig.
Wiccan - The epitome of cerebral evolution having mastered the magical powers of the universe and is in eternal harmony with the mind of God.
Atheist - An ill-defined term that means something different to everyone who uses it.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
Clearly Jesus (a fictitious character or otherwise) will forgive people if they merely know not what they do
For the Bible Tells us so!

Nah, UD can go ahead and reserve me a room in hell, because I absolutely have decided that I wouldn't want any part of his fairies heaven if it actually did exist. For me, it's not an issue of simple disbelief, but of complete and utter disgust. There's a long list of terrible shit I'd do and smile about doing, but accepting this "gift" isn't on that list.
