I am personally pleased to see problems emerge inside the Vatican. As an ex-Catholic, I would love nothing more than to see the destruction of the entire Catholic church.

History shows that the only way to take out the Vatican is to literally take out the Vatican. You ever hear of a world power just kind of vanishing? Nope. Sure, some were corrupt and sort of fell apart from the inside, but it takes a coup or an outright takeover from the outside to annihilate it.

I agree with Min. As the world turns more and more secular, eventually the Vatican, along with the Catholic church itself, will become totally irrelevant in the world scene. They pretty much are now anyway. True, the last pope liked to travel around a lot in order to try to spread goodwill, but I don't think the current poop gets out much.
